Pyramidal neurons, astrocytes, and interneurons in ink and gold interlace into the delicate circuitry of the cerebral cortex. The cortex is the site of a huge number of brain functions such as sensory processing, eye movements, spatial location, logic and reasoning, planning, speech, and many others.
